Dear Confréres and Friends,
Fall is finally here in South Texas. Up north, the leaves are changing colors and the first hints of frost can be felt in the early morning air. Here the changes are less dramatic. High temperatures for the day rarely exceed 95 degrees and property tax bills appear in our mailboxes.
The new season gives us an opportunity to experience something old and something new. Maître de Table Manny Ortiz has been an active member of our Bailliage for many years. When he was General Manager of The Plaza Club we held several events there, each one more successful and more spectacular than the one before. Now Manny and Sheri own and operate the City Club at the Majestic.
We asked Manny and his staff to come up with a fall themed dinner, something special to showcase his new venture and to introduce the City Club at the Majestic to a discriminating crowd of gourmands. As the enclosed menu shows, Manny may have moved but he has kept his sense of originality and knack for exceeding expectations.
