A Taste of Italy

The evening starts with some cooling Prosecco paired with some carefully paired appetizers to meet and greet your fellow members and friends and cool off.

Wines to be enjoyed will include:

First Course - Modern Vitelo Tonnato

2021 Livio Fellugio Pinot Grigio is from the Collli Orientali del Friuli in Northeast Italy. This wine is often considered the definitive expression of PG from the Fruili-Venezia region.

Second Course - Italian Sausage stuffed calamari, tomato risotto

1995 Monsanto Chianti Classico Riserva, a Wine Spectator #40 best wine of the year upon release. Sangiovese can age quite well, and the Riserva is made with aging in mind, so this should be a rare treat!

Third Course - Pasta duo, carbonara with pecorino ramano and wild boar bolognese

2012 Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino Riserva--- a highly acclaimed Brunello from the single vineyard (planted in 1964) of one of the three original Brunello producers. At 13 years, this wine should be moving into that perfect “sweet spot” where aging is producing its glorious results!

Fourth Course - Herb stuffed filet mignon, truffle potatoes, summer vegetable garniture

2015 Il Pino di Bisnero, a powerhouse of a Super Tuscan from the famed Bisnero estate in the Maremma region. This wine is a gorgeous blend of 36% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, 20% Petit Verdot, and 14% Cabernet Sauvignon, with just enough aging to be absolutely divine.

Fifth Course - Assorted artisanal cheeses, nuts, and petite desserts

2000 Masi Aligheri Amarone, the perfect aged wine to finish off the dinner and this march through some powerful, complex Italian wines.
